This weekend my family and I traveled to VA to attend our new youth pastor and his new wife’s wedding! Tad was hired on as our full time youth pastor a few months ago… and since then Aliesha has been back home in VA planning their wedding. Im sure its been a long few months for the two of them :) but distance does make the heart grow fonder! HEHE
The wedding was beautiful. It is prob one of the more detailed weddings I’ve been to. Aliesha and her family and friends are so creative! Everything went so well together. She even had matching little name tag badges for the photographers HAHA.. I thought that was really fun and will definitely keep mine for future weddings :) I felt official!
My 2nd shooter was a guy who the bride knew whos trying to branch out and do more weddings. His name is Drew Polland. He did really well!! and I enjoyed having him there with me. Although im sure he looked like the real photographer HEHE, he was like 6 foot 5?! not sure.. but way taller than me. I sometimes feel like I look like a little teen or something prancing around with a nice camera. :)
This was the 1st wedding I ever went to that was an hour long. They incorporated not only congregational singing… with songs like “In Christ Alone” but also the gospel itself. The groom presented it after the singing. Was really cool actually.. and it all flowed well together.
One other thing different about this wedding was my family was with me… Travis (my husband) did great tending to the kids though and they had child care during the ceremony, but during the reception Taite was my little assistant and stuck by my side… he kept telling daddy (who was there) that he wanted to stay with me. He didnt really get in the way to much though… was cute having him by me.
Theres so many good photos to show… but I tried to pick a good many to sort of showcase the day for now. I got many more that will go up eventually over at my proofing site.
In the mean time heres some of my favorites :)
I thought this was a really fun idea! Little brides maid gift bags with essentials for the day :)
She also had a wall set up with lots of photos of the two of them. Was really neat and artsy. I love this photograph that she took herself.
The brides maid in this group were lots of fun. All so friendly! At one point while doing some posed photos outside before the wedding.. I spotted this TREE that I just had to use.. but there was a wall barrier thing up that the bride couldnt step over… and we could not get around it… so… her maid of honor carrier her over it! WAS SO FUN!
and it was so worth the work :)
So thank you ladies for putting up with me :)
The mens photographs were taken by my 2nd shooter… so I will have more of those to post later :) I did get some group shots of EVERYONE together though… and a transformed bride :)
*Note the 2nd to the last man… is the grooms dad hehe. The 1st thing he said to me when I said to do this was “my knees are bad” LOL but look how good he did!! Although I must admit he looks like he was anticipating some pain on the landing LOL*
Even the guest were a blast… My 2 yr old did not know what to think of how giddy they were when the bride picked up some flowers to throw HAHA… check him out
:) yea he didnt get it lol
This wedding had lots of hugs. Heres just a few I got saved.
Enjoy your Honeymoon Tad & Aliesha!! I look forward to hearing all about it.
Well.. maybe not ALL the details :) but you know HAHA
You can view a few more I’ve added over on my FLICKR Album
AND I MUST ADD: The mother of the bride… MADE HER WEDDING DRESS!!!! how unreal is that. IT WAS FLAWLESS and so beautiful. The photos do not do the dress justice.. the detail was just stunning.
