When I 1st moved to GA – one of the things I really wanted to do, was to network with other photographers. Back in NC this was huge for me. I was a brand new photographer back in 2007 – had just moved to a new town in NC… and knew nothing about the business. I was so blessed to get connected with a wonderful group of photographers in a neighboring town – and to this day I am still very close to a number of them. It opened my eyes to a lot about photography, but also the importance on becoming close with other photographers.
The sad thing is – so many photographers don’t do this… they simply view the “other photographer” – as competition and often times rarely blink an eye at them.
There will come a day when you are sick or have a family emergency and are left up a creek with a session in line or even a wedding. Having people you trust with their talent but also as individuals – is so important in this industry.
I am thankful for Coleen – and being able to become friends with her.
Shes an amazing talent and so so sweet too.
So to be able to shoot her family portraits was so fun – although even though Ive been doing this for years now – I still get so nervous photographing other photographers :-D – even if it doesnt seem that way.
Enjoy Coleen! Your family is so fun. I loved being your photographer for the evening :)
